Washington, D.C., United States (AHN) – An air traffic controller fell asleep on the job and has sent the aviation administration into a frenzy. Officials are now trying to ascertain how this happen and why was he alone in the control tower.

The FAA says it is now studying staffing at towers across the country. The controller who snoozed on at Reagan national airport on Tuesday and launched the investigation has been suspended. The 20 year veteran told NTSB investigators that he did fall asleep “for a period of time while on duty.

A controller at a regional FAA facility 40 miles away from Reagan National Airport was forced to intervene and assist two planes, carrying more than 160 people, as they prepared to land at Reagan National Airport.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board report, pilots on a United Airlines Airbus A320 jet arriving from Chicago and an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 inbound from Miami tried repeatedly to establish contact with the Reagan tower between 12:04 and 12:28 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Many are asking why was he alone in the tower and even the US Transportation Secretary says that is not acceptable.

“I am determined to get to the bottom of this situation for the safety of the traveling public,” FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt said in a statement Thursday. “As a former airline pilot, I am personally outraged that this controller did not meet his responsibility to help land these two airplanes.”

Passengers however were probably not in any real danger during the incident as pilots train for this type of situation because some smaller airports actually don’t have their towers manned overnight.

“We believe you should be staffed to the traffic needs that you have, that one person should not work all night by themselves or any shift for that matter. You need breaks, you need to be able to get your rest period,” Union rep. David Caldwell said.

In 2006, 49 people lost their lives during a crash in Lexington, Kentucky where just one controller was in the tower.

You can sell your car for cash now. Circumstances can arise that may have made it necessary for you to raise money quickly and selling your vehicle may be the solution. Unexpected expenses, loss of a job, taxes — or you may just have your eye on another vehicle and need to get rid of yours quickly so you have the cash to buy it. Whatever the reason, there are a few things to keep in mind if you want to sell your car for quick cash.

You may be able to sell your car for cash now to a dealer that specializes in used cars. Used car dealers are always on the lookout for good, clean cars that have been well maintained and have profit making potential. If your car fits that profile, you may be able to easily find an interested dealer. The possible downside is that you won’t be able to get as much money for your car as you would if you were to sell it yourself. The dealer is in the business of making money by Selling cars, not buying them. So if he takes your car off your hands, it will be with the intention of buying at a “wholesale” price that he can mark up when he sells it.

Another way to sell your car for cash now is through the online classifieds. It may take longer than finding a dealer who will buy it, but you may come away with several hundred more dollars. Online services that let you list your items for sale have virtually replaced printed publications. Particularly given that many of them are free; you don’t have to pay to post your listing. If you have the time to wait for the right buyer to come along, this is certainly an option.

However you decide to sell your car for cash now, it’s critical that you get your car in shape to sell. In most cases, that can be a simple matter of giving your car a good cleaning inside and out. In fact, doing so has been known to actually add value to your car; it’s really no different than you putting your best foot forward with a shave, haircut and new clothes to prepare for a job interview. It says you are serious about making a sale and could get you the cash you want as fast as you want it.

At the moment the new car market is struggling to make many sales and so they are cutting jobs left right and centre this is thanks to the recession. However I am not here to write about the recession I am here to help you find some cheap used cars for sale.

Looking for cheap used cars for sale is not a hard task when you look at all the media that is available and it is most certainly a lot easier than it was. Back before computers really took hold and the internet is what the geeks played with on a Saturday night trying to find cheap used cars was a very difficult job. You would have to search in local newspapers ask around have a few beers in the pub. Just to find a handful of cars that were up for grabs so in those days the pickings were slim and you could almost name your price if your a seller.

The dawn of the internet and the cost to get publications printed has made things a hell of lot cheaper and a lot better for selling cars in fact for selling anything. The likes of online auctions and forums has just made selling and buying something that we just don’t need to worry about now.

Searching for a cheap used car for sale will normally just be a case of searching google and trawling through the classifieds and it is as simple as that. In fact its even easier with the help of online auctions because you can even bid and buy the car online using paypal. So the whole process is so much smoother and user friendly.

The use of car dealers on your high street are handy if you want to just see what there is available maybe go for a test drive or ask some questions then when you are certain that car is what you are after then go and find the same used car for sale on the internet.

If you head over to an online auction you can always contact the buyer before the auction ends to see if the used car for sale is the right car for you and is as good as it looks on the screen this is common practice however if the car is really cheap I normally just bid and buy as I know I can fix it up and still keep the price down but then that is just me.

If you are looking for a really easy place to find that next used car for sale take a look at Cars UK For Sale they have a massive selection of cars at prices that will compliment anyone’s budget.

(NaturalNews) With the grassroots backlash over the TSA’s obscene pat-downs growing by the day, it’s becoming fairly obvious that the only way the U.S. government is going to get the public to accept these Fourth Amendment violations is if there is another “terrorist incident” that’s stopped by the TSA and its naked body scanners. So far, the TSA is molesting children, teens and grannies without being able to demonstrate that this gross violation of Americans’ Fourth Amendment rights is having any effect whatsoever on improving air travel safety. But if there’s anything to be learned from 9/11, it’s that the sheeple are always willing to give up their rights if they can be scared into doing so . (http://www.naturalnews.com/030452_Ron_Paul_enough_is.html) “After 9/11 people were scared and when people are scared they’ll do anything for someone who will make them less scared,” said Bruce Schneier, a Minneapolis security technology expert, in an AP story (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101121/ap_on_re_us/us_airport_security_backlash). “But [this TSA] is particularly invasive. It’s strip-searching. It’s body groping. As abhorrent goes, this pegs it.” TSA is fighting for its survival The TSA is being threatened right now in a big way: One airport in Florida is already planning to ditch the agency and hire private contractors to run security. A NYC lawmaker has called for the “dismantling” of the TSA, and Rep Ron Paul has introduced legislation that would result in TSA agents being arrested for felony crimes if they touched peoples’ junk. The TSA, in other words, is fighting for its very survival right now. What it desperately needs is some new terrorist incident to remind the American people how much they need to give up their freedoms in exchange for security. Now, I’m not saying the TSA is going to plot to blow up an airplane or anything, but if there’s anybody who has the access to sneak something past airport security, it’s the TSA. How false flag operations achieve government goals The United States government has a long and detailed history of “staging” events in order to sway public opinion. The Gulf of Tonkin event in the Vietnam War era was deliberately staged by U.S. government officials in order to justify an escalation of military attacks on the North Vietnamese. Documents that were finally declassified just this year prove beyond any doubt that the U.S. government conspired to stage this “false flag” event. (http://www.prisonplanet.com/de-classified-vietnam-era-transcripts-show-senators-knew-gulf-of-tonkin-was-a-staged-false-flag-event.html) Operation Northwoods was a similar plot. As Wikipedia relates: The planned 1962 Operation Northwoods plot by the U.S. Department of Defense for a war with Cuba involved scenarios such as hijacking or shooting down passenger and military planes, sinking a U.S. ship in the vicinity of Cuba, burning crops, sinking a boat filled with Cuban refugees, attacks by alleged Cuban infiltrators inside the United States, and harassment of U.S. aircraft and shipping and the destruction of aerial drones by aircraft disguised as Cuban MiGs. These actions would be blamed on Cuba, and would be a pretext for an invasion of Cuba and the overthrow of Fidel Castro’s communist government . It was authored by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, nixed by John F. Kennedy, came to light through the Freedom of Information Act and was publicized by James Bamford. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_flag#As_pretexts_for_war) On the conspiracy theory front, there have long been accusations that the 9/11 attacks were an “inside job” staged as a pretext to clamp down on Americans’ freedoms and roll out the Patriot Act — the very law that coincidentally gives TSA agents the right to have anybody arrested and detained for 48 hours without cause, without a warrant and without legal representation. The evidence surrounding the collapse of the WTC 7 building now has literally thousands of engineers, scientists and citizens realizing the building was obviously brought down by demolition explosions (http://buildingwhat.org) and not an “office fire” as was the official explanation. The point of all this is that when governments are cornered but don’t want to give in, they will sometimes resort to falsifying events in order to continue moving their agendas forward. As David Icke explains, it’s the old “problem-reaction-solution” approach. First, create the problem , then wait for the public reaction that allows you to enact the government solution . The formula works like a charm for everything from pushing flu vaccines to justifying a war. In fact, there is evidence that U.S. agents may already be working on this plan. The fake bomb recently found on board a German passenger jet, we now know, was manufactured by a U.S. company (http://www.prisonplanet.com/fake-bomb-aboard-german-passenger-jet-was-made-by-u-s-firm-to-test-airport-security.html). How government agencies keep themselves alive (and get more funding) Is the TSA at that point of desperation yet? I’m not sure, but it would certainly be easy for high-level TSA operatives to find some patsy who hates the government, convince him that he should carry some liquid explosives onto an airplane, and then “catch” him at a TSA security checkpoint, thereby proving that we need to keep giving up our freedoms in the name of security. The mainstream media would have a field day with that story, and for the next two weeks on the news, we’d all hear how important the TSA is and what a great job they’re doing, and how this “terrorist” was caught by the naked body scanner machine, and so on. Don’t be surprised to see such a scenario unfold. It’s not that I personally distrust the TSA in particular, because there are some good people who work there and who are not to blame for all this, but at the same time I’ve been around long enough and studied enough true history to know that government organizations will do practically anything to stay in power . The DEA, for example, is desperately fighting against marijuana legalization not because marijuana is some highly dangerous drug (it isn’t), but because it’s job security for DEA agents . The CDC, likewise, went completely out of its way last year to spread fear about the H1N1 Swine Flu for the same reasons: Job security. There’s nothing quite like declaring a stage-six pandemic to keep the Congressional funding flowing your way, huh? The CDC also has a fascinating history of completely distorting the AIDS epidemic in order to boost its own funding, by the way. Watch this eye-opening video from House of Numbers to learn more: http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=4FE73A67EAEC6D7D2E8F8CF30E63A37E Every government agency — the TSA, CDC, FDA, USDA, FTC and so on — fights for its survival every year. That’s because in an era of budget cuts, every agency knows it could potentially be on the chopping block for severe cuts. And funding cuts translate into job losses. So the unspoken rule at all government agencies is to “make ourselves important” in order to keep the money flowing. This is also why the food contamination scares have been hyped up beyond all reason over the last two years: The FDA wants new powers to control the food supply, and the best way to do that is to latch onto stories about e.coli and salmonella and blow those all out of proportion in order to pass reactionary legislation called Senate Bill 510 (http://www.naturalnews.com/030461_Senate_Bill_510_Food_Safety.html). The truth about this food safety situation is that right now something like 80% of the chickens sold in grocery stores are contaminated with salmonella (http://www.naturalnews.com/021258.html), yet you don’t hear a peep about that story. And the FDA is making no effort whatsoever to “ban chicken meat” from grocery stores. Their fear mongering about food contamination is very selective, it seems. Perhaps the TSA has been learning its lessons from the FDA. Simply stage a false flag attack and you, too, can have increased Congressional funding to “fight terror” or whatever. We do need protections, but we need our rights even more All this isn’t to say that America doesn’t have enemies who really do want to destroy us. It’s true that there are really bad people out there — people and groups who want to bring America down. There are some good people in Washington who are fighting for our safety behind the scenes. Yes, the FBI, CIA and NSA all have “a few good men” who are doing things around the world that you and I don’t even want to know about. Stuff that would make you cringe if you knew about it. The sacrifices being made by some of these individuals in the name of protecting America’s interests on the international stage will never be fully known, nor recognized by anyone in the mainstream. The everyday American people who go about their lives shopping, watching TV, collecting a paycheck and surfing the ‘web have no idea what goes on behind the scenes to give them the luxury of pursuing such a carefree lifestyle. That’s why nothing I print here is intended to disrespect the front-line warriors who are fighting for America’s interests — soldiers, the few “good” feds, etc. But at the same time that there are some “good men” (and women) in these agencies, there are also some rotten apples (like in any organization, I suppose). There are some people working in the government who absolutely would not hesitate to stage a false flag attack if it meant increasing their power, their pay and their importance. And those people must be scratching their heads right now, thinking, “Gee, it sure would be easy to pull off a staged event of some kind that keeps us all in power.” I just hope they come to their senses and realize they should not be at war with the American people . They’re supposed to be fighting to protect our freedoms, not to take away our freedoms. The real war is with the true enemies of America — those state-sponsored terrorist groups that genuinely want to destroy America and everything it stands for. Certainly, we must not let the terrorists win. But neither must we allow freedom to perish in the process. Reasonable security is fine As a freedom-loving American who values both my freedom and my safety, I will gladly submit to having my luggage X-rayed and walking through a metal detector. I will gladly sit beside an armed Air Marshal on the flight, captained by an armed pilot on the flight deck who hopefully has a couple of spare mags along with his Colt 1911, too (pilots carry firearms on airplanes right now, most people don’t even know..). Yet as much as those security precautions seem reasonable, I refuse to subject myself to a body X-ray that emits ionizing radiation, and I refuse to give in to an obscene pat-down that involves government personnel feeling up my genitals, with or without a latex glove. At that point, “security” has become tyranny. And the terrorists have already won. We need to rise up and stop this. Just as some of our undercover federal agents (and active soldiers) are fighting for America’s interests overseas, you and I need to be fighting for our freedom right here at home, on American soil, with this airport security issue. We are not subjects. We are not cattle. We are sovereign citizens and we will not surrender our bodies to be fondled by government agents with the excuse that “it’s for our own good.” And be on the watch for a “staged” security event designed to convince the American people that they need to give up yet more freedoms in the name of police-state security. I’m willing to bet that precisely such a plot is on the drawing board in Washington D.C. right now.

DUBAI/DOHA: When Qatari paramedic Mohammed Majib rushed to Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad al Thani’s royal palace in the mid 1990s after a call for help, he wasn’t sure what the ailing Sheikh found more shocking — the heart attack he had just suffered, or the fact that his medic was a local. “You’re Qatari?” the former ruler gasped, as Majib went to work. “Ma Sha’ Allah. (God bless you).”

Khalifa’s surprise was understandable. Across the Gulf, and especially in states where rapid growth is driven by oil and gas, locals rarely have hands-on jobs in health – or anywhere in the private sector. In an unspoken pact between rulers and ruled, Gulf citizens seem all too happy to fill plush government jobs, where the pay is high, the hours short, and the work sometimes nonexistent. In the private sector, job after job is filled by South Asians, non-Gulf Arabs and Westerners.

Gulf Arab rulers have known for more than a decade that this is a problem, not least because it hands day-to-day power over whole sections of the economy to foreigners.

Foreign workers make up more than 80 percent of the private workforce in many Gulf states and hold key positions running national airlines, real estate and financial service companies and the media industry.

In response, governments have introduced ‘nationalisation’ schemes aimed at pushing their workers into the private sector.

Oman was the first, setting out in the 1980s to ‘Omanise’ its workforce; governments in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have all followed.

Typically, the schemes combine tax incentives for private companies to hire locals, quotas, and investment in training local graduates. It’s not working. Most Gulf Arab rulers have found breaking a culture of easy-come government jobs and preparing their citizens for the private sector difficult. Qataris, about 16 percent of the country’s 1.7 million people, still represent just 5 percent of the country’s private-sector workforce, government statistics show. Locals fill about one percent of private-sector jobs in the United Arab Emirates.

Saudi Arabia, with its large native population, has mustered a 10 percent participation rate. “We need to share in the private sector,” says Noora Al Bedur, a director of the UAE’s Emiratisation programme. “The private sector is the backbone of a country’s economy. And citizens have the right to work in this field. That is very important for us.” NEW STRUGGLES Gulf Arabs have come to expect a nice government job as part of what Ingo Forstenlechner, an Austrian academic at the United Arab Emirates University, calls the region’s ruling bargain: the rulers give you everything, but you don’t ask for anything.

“It’s basically buying political acquiescence while distributing the oil wealth,” Forstenlechner says.

That worked fine as long as government jobs were available.

But in places like Saudi Arabia – official unemployment is 10.5 percent, though diplomats and analysts say the real figure is likely to be higher – state jobs are no longer guaranteed. In Kuwait, 12,000 nationals are waiting for government posts.

That’s left young people frustrated. In an extremely rare public protest in late August, around 200 unemployed Saudi university graduates crowded in front of the education ministry in Riyadh carrying posters with slogans demanding government jobs and posters with slogans like “Enough Injustice.”

Experts say unless unemployment is tackled, protests may increase – adding to security risks. “The great majority of those recruited for terrorist activities are the unemployed,” says Mustafa Alani, of the Gulf Research Centre. “The (Saudi) government believes that the question of unemployment is a major problem with huge implications on security.” WHY BOTHER? Part of the problem is that many Gulf nationals still don’t see the point of seeking work in the private sector. In countries such as the UAE, where modest palm frond homes were replaced by glittering villas and skyscrapers in a generation or two, the government says most people are jobless by choice.

Official statistics show 23 percent of Emiratis are unemployed — a rate similar to the Gaza strip.

“These are strange economies – they’re economies that went from being rather poor and undeveloped to overnight having huge amounts of oil money invested in them,” says Paul Dyer, a fellow at the Dubai School of Government who specialises in labour and political economy.

Khalid al Mutawaa, a 26-year-old Emirati who until recently worked as a project manager for an international bank, says the transformation has not been easy. “I think the older generations … weren’t ready for such a huge boom” he says, relaxing after work at a lounge in Dubai’s beachside Ritz Carlton resort. “But I don’t think the young people here were really ready for it either. UAE nationals have a very home-oriented environment. They see family as the priority.”

Many also see a private job as less attractive than a government position, which usually offer shorter working hours and double the pay. “I can’t not see the obvious,” says 23 year-old Abdulla al-Kaabi, son of a date-farmer from the small UAE mountain town of Hatta, an hour outside Dubai.

Sipping coffee inside the massive Dubai Mall while fussing with his three silver mobile phones, Kaabi says he will hold out for up to a year for a government post rather than take a job with a private firm.

“I can work in a bank from at least 8am to 5 pm, and get half the salary that I would get in a government job working 8 to 2. Anyone would choose the better option.”

‘DESIGNED FOR EXPLOITATION’

One factor hindering progress is the fact the nationalization schemes are often disorganized – dropped a few years after they are initiated, only to be restarted later. Saudi Arabia recently relaunched its Saudization program, which includes employment quotas for the number of nationals that must be hired, and an incentive program that pays a portion of a local employee’s salary.

The private sector in the Gulf is also fundamentally ill-suited to absorb nationals, and nationalization schemes offer scant incentive for reform.

How can so many Emiratis be unemployed in an economy with one of the highest growth rates in the Middle East and awash in oil money, Forstenlechner asked in a 2009 research paper?

The answer: the millions of private sector jobs were created with foreigners, not locals, in mind.

“The private sector here is designed for exploitation – for foreign investors and powerful locals to exploit a temporary and cheap foreign workforce. It’s not actually built for employing a permanent, local workforce.”

The huge imbalance between the number of locals and the number of temporary foreign workers means that government quotas for local workers can seem fanciful. The official Qatarization policy aims to have half of its workforce filled by nationals, a quota that most believe is impossible for a country whose indigenous population is less than a fifth of the total. The UAE, which brought in quotas for different sectors 10 years ago, expected many sectors to have at least 40 percent Emirati employees this year. Few companies have met these targets.

In many places there are simply not enough nationals to support growth. Qatar’s GDP is expected to grow a staggering 15.5 percent in 2010, according to a Reuters poll. Saudi will grow by 3.8 percent. Even the UAE, which includes crisis-hit Dubai, is expected to grow by 2.4 percent.

As a result, private employers are forced “to go down the ladder to fill these positions,” says an expatriate communications employee in Qatar, declining to be identified speaking critically of colleagues. “We’re seeing unqualified, inexperienced people in many of these roles.” – Reuters

People say that unemployment is growing globally due to the massive increase in population. Only a few professions are still making people make good amount of money but they need the employees to have special profession oriented skills. In whatever profession you are, it is tough to make the ends meet unless you are at a hierarchically high position. Whatever job you are in, you can still spend some time to earn some extra bucks. Especially if you are a person who loves freedom in job or business, you have got the option to earn handsome amount of money over internet business. The only requirement to start such a business is to own a computer and have an internet connection at your home. Even working a few hours at your ease of time can provide you a decent income if you opt for internet home business.

You have to search the internet to get internet based business ideas. There are several such business options on the internet. You may perhaps already be receiving mails that advertise about such businesses. Most of these businesses are based on internet marketing strategies. There are several internet business options available to you. Here are some of the most popular ones:

* Get paid to read mails – This is part of promotional campaigns. Companies write and propagate promotional articles. You have to receive these articles in your mailbox and keep them in the inbox for a stipulated period of time. You are paid in accordance with the number of articles you read and the number of articles your referrals read.
* Get paid to click on advertisements – This is another promotional strategy of advertisers. You have to click on advertisements and keep the page open for a stated period of time. The more ads you see the more profit you make. Basically, more number of hits on the ad makes the company’s website more prominent and searchable on the internet.
* Get paid to take survey – Many research agencies need people to do surveys of different kinds. You can answer to survey questions to make easy money.
* Get paid to fill up forms – This one is most commonly known as internet data entry job. You need to fill up different kind of forms for the clients. The money is given in accordance with the number of forms you fill up.
* Get paid to sign up offers – Signing up with offers is a new entrant in the arena of internet home business. It is also another promotional business.
* Get paid to write articles – This is a good option if you are good in English. You need to write keyword based articles for the clients and get paid accordingly. Mostly, this one is taken up by creative sort of people.

Working from home is the most cherished thought for many people. It is very much peaceful and gratifying in nature to own an internet business since you do your job at the sanctity of your own home. When you are into business, you are your own leader as well as inspiration. It is true that hard work pays and it is proven that internet home jobs have provided the joy of living happily to many people. Time and money are the two things people thrive for. Generally, it is tough to have both at the same time. Internet based home businesses give you both time and money. This work does not interfere with your freedom to work at your ease. Unlike switching jobs, switching internet based home businesses are not too tough. The best part is that you don’t need to invest a lot to start your business. A nominal investment and a tactical game plan can make you earn quite handsomely. It should be kept in mind that internet based home businesses put no age bar and everybody has the right to work.

It would be a helpful amount of money if they can just stay home and do some online data entry job.

Find diverse online jobs. There are many different kinds of online jobs available. If you are capable of writing, try finding jobs to write product reviews, blogs or recipes. If you are knowledgeable of writing programs, do not hesitate to find jobs helping people in writing programs or setting up websites. Diverse jobs can also secure more income source for yourself.
